The Teen Assistant Counselor (TAC) program is a work-experience opportunity for teens aged 15 and older during PSCA’s Summer Circus Camp. The TAC would work under the direction of the full-time staff of PSCA’s summer circus camp with the Camp Director as primary supervisor. The TAC’s primary job responsibility will be assisting camp staff with the youngest group of Youth Campers and/or Junior Campers during warm-up and morning rotations, snack and lunch, and afternoon activities. Additional responsibilities may include making copies, filing of camp papers, assisting with tie dying, and organization of camp equipment. There
is a small stipend of $50 per week for a TAC position.
TAC’s will be assigned to Youth Camp or Junior Camp depending on the needs of the camp. To be considered for Youth Camp a TAC must be at least 16 years of age by the first day of camp. It is preferred that TAC applicants have taken at least 3 sessions of PSCA classes and/or attended summer camp for at least 2 sessions and all applicants need a written recommendation of at least one PSCA staff member which can be emailed directly to the Camp Director.
If accepted into the program, TAC’s must have the intention of attending camp every day of the session from 8:30am to 3pm. If a TAC knows of a scheduling conflict or is sick, he/she must take responsibility for communicating that to the Camp Director.
